I’m pretty sure I met Luke when I was in first grade. We always had to stand by each other when we lined up to go places because our last names were close, from time to time. Becky (Matron of Honor) would be between us. It’s too funny how stuff like that happens!
When Luke got to his parents he was a perfect mixture of calm and excited to get married. He’s so level headed and calm. I think his brother said it best during his speech, that he’s never seen Luke mad, and he’s slow to speak. Which in the years I grew up with Luke I don’t think I can ever remember him angry, most often I think of him just smiling!
Brittnay is the sweetest girl. She’s so kind, and just awesome. I’m glad we got to hang out together when they drove down to Normal for their engagement shoot last fall! It was a learning experience because Luke is significantly taller than Brittnay, but we made it work and got some of my favorite shots from any of my engagement shoots! Then came their wedding and I realized how comfortable I was with posing them because we had done it once before (plug for why its so important to have your engagement shoot with your wedding photographer here) ;). These two during their bride + groom portraits were just the best. I think I told them how excited I was about them about 456 times. But really, once you see how Luke looks at his bride I think you’ll understand why I just loved these two. Brittnay is seriously gorgeous, like always – but when you bring Luke around she seriously radiates JOY. The love between these two is so apparent, and we’re so glad we were lucky enough to be a part of their big day!
The reception location was beautiful. The balcony and the docks and the big windows… I could have shot there forever. Just wait until you see the sunset portraits. But really, my words can’t do this wedding justice. Check out these pictures!
I love the “S” at the base of the diamond! It’s so unique!!
